1. Planning and Implementation

• Plan and manage formulation of an overarching company Marcom strategy & budget, including brand, advertising, events & social media
• Provide input to Marketing Performance & Communication planning, implementation and departmental budget
• Plan and implement branding, advertising, events & social media strategies, targets and initiatives by coordinating with end users and reviewing pipeline opportunities
• Evaluate branding, advertising, events & social media ideas from experts in the team and send ideas suitable for implementation to General Manager for comments, recommendations, and approval
• Drive media planning, buying guidelines and management of agency relationships
• Develop processes to align branding, advertising, events & social media communications to corporate strategy and goals
• Direct and oversee the online content and look&feel of the Company’s portal.

2. Branding

• Ensure alignment of corporate brand with corporate strategy
• Manage end-to end any brand activation and launch activities
• Coordinate with Business Units in manage product brands and develop marketing communications content
• Ensure timely launch of products and services by approving briefs developed by end-users and coordinate with external agencies to develop concepts
• Interact with external agencies when developing branding concepts, campaigns and events for end-user sign off
• Evaluate ideas for branding campaigns and incorporate new media to attract certain segments of the niche markets
• Identify and analyze scenarios which could significantly affect public’s view of brand value and develop risk mitigation strategies

3. Advertising

• Execute advertising campaigns by approving scripts for all market communications, including press, radio, television, online, and review budgets and methods of execution for end user sign off
• Manage all interaction and material related to advertising to ensure a favorable image for Omantel
• Create plans for each advertising campaign, and recommend appropriate media channels for each (example: newspaper, magazine, targeted advertising, online, etc)
• Drive production of advertising ideas with external experts
• Ensure alignment of advertising campaigns with corporate branding and communication strategy

4. Events & Sponsorship

• Analyze the sponsorship opportunities and build business cases for sponsorship or events highlighting payback in commercial or image return on investment
• Negotiate, develop and coordinate opportunities to leverage the organizations’ sponsorships with event organizations and sponsored teams
• Propose, identify and supervise distribution of appropriate promotional/gift items for goodwill and enhancement of Omantel’s corporate image
• Measure the effectiveness and impact of sponsorships and events activities; report the analysis to senior management and feed findings into future campaign planning
• Communicate sponsor requirements to key internal Departments

5. Social Media

• Direct and oversee social media activities of the Company to ensure that Omantel perception is maintained through social media platforms
• Identify social media channels and develop overarching strategy, and assign ownership and communication campaign for each channel
• Oversee monitoring of each channel and identify opportunities & threats on a daily basis
• Oversee performance monitoring and effectiveness of communication through social media channels

6. Operational Management

• Monitor the day-to-day operational activities of the Department to ensure adherence to operating budget
• Review and present periodic reports related to the Department’s performance
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with the media
• Provide input to developing a new corporate image that is consistent
• across Omantel
• Provide input and recommendations on final branding and advertising visuals and ensure appropriate direct and indirect channels are used

7. Policies & Procedures

• Establish & monitor branding, advertising, events & social media policies and procedures for the Company with an emphasis on developing a consistent corporate image
• Mange corporate brand management processes and standards and routinely monitor compliance to the same
• Mange definition and maintenance of advertising, events & social media standards and guidelines
• Identify potential areas of improvement in existing policies and
• procedures
• Communicate branding, advertising, events & social media policies and procedures to all Omantel employees

8. People Management

• Motivate Management and empower direct reports by providing the necessary tools and support required to support Department’s goals
• Plan, manage, and review individual performance and provide regular feedback, development and coaching, taking prompt action where necessary
• Establish clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow of the Department
• Build opportunities for Department members to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives
• Provide guidance and ensure that the Department complies with Omantel’s policies, processes, practices and systems
